Queen Anastasia Chinenye Oyatabu is a professional model, actress and a beauty queen who hails from Nimo Njikoka LGA of Anambra state. A Christian, 200 level student of Nwafor Orizu College of Education Nsugbe. She is studying Economics and political science.

HOW DO YOU FEEL EMERGING THE WINNER OF QUEEN ACHARAUGO CHARITY FOUNDATION BEAUTY PAGEANT?

 I felt so happy and special of course. It wasn’t easy but I’m glad I made it.

WHAT WAS THE FIRST THOUGHT THAT CAME TO YOUR MIND WHEN THEY ANNOUNCED YOU AS THE WINNER?

To be sincere I wasn’t that surprised. I came heavily prepared. I knew I will win because the months of hard work and sleepless night paid off. Coupled with my creativity and extraordinary approach towards the whole thing. I really carved out time for it.

HOW DID YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY REACT TO YOUR VICTORY?

My family were solidly behind me. They all felt so proud and happy for me. My friends also. They felt fulfilled because without them, I wouldn’t be here today.

 WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE DURING THE CONTEST?

 My biggest challenge was the online voting. I believed in personal capabilities and potentials. The online voting involved financial prospects and being a student, it was really tough for me. I knew my hope of winning the crown is in the field of contest so I focused more on that. I came 2nd in the online voting though. Not bad.

 HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE MODELING INDUSTRY?

2 years. My first experience was during the Miss Njikoka beauty pageant 2020. It was really tough because these involved a lot professionals from different communities in my local government. I was the 2nd runners up and focused more in building myself and developing my talents.

 TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE SINCE YOU WERE CROWNED? 

 It was awesome. The special IVs, the endorsement deals, movie contracts, magazines covers and so on. The feeling is out of this world.

WHAT ARE THE PROJECTS YOU HAVE EMBARKED ON SO FAR?

I must confess my manager is the pivot and engine room of my success today. He drafted the projects for me and fixed up most of the endorsement deals as well. 

My first project being “padding the girl child” was a huge success. This involved Sharing over 300 sanitary pads to secondary school girls and lecturing them in good hygiene. 

My second project was “Hospital outreach”. Which included sharing of pads, toiletries and paying hospital bills for some of the patients and a lots of other minor things.

IF YOUR WERE NOT A MODEL, WHAT OTHER CAREER WOULD YOU HAVE PURSUED?  

I am a wonderful actress. If I hadn’t been a model, I think acting would have been a perfect substitute.

WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL?

In modeling, Queen Obiamaka is my role model. Yes, the name may not ring a bell but she had achieved so much in her modeling career. A sister and a friend. Actress, brand influencer, Ex Miss Starlet Africa 2019, Ex Miss Nigeria independence 2020 and currently Miss Nigeria ambassador 2022. I look up to achieving such feats.

HOW HAS WINNING THIS PAGEANT CHANGED YOUR LIFE?

I would say it really gave me a lot of courage to do more and the opportunity to help the less privileged.

WHICH BRANDS ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO WORKING WITH? 

I am currently the ambassador of 3 different brands. The best being “Cyril rose collection” a clothing brand in Dubai. But I think working with most of the top companies in Nigeria would be an experience I won’t forget in a hurry. I am ready to welcome any offer from any of the top companies.

LASTLY, ANY MESSAGE TO ALL THE ASPIRING MODELS WHO DREAM OF BEING A BEAUTY QUEEN?

I will advice  them to put in their best , believe in their capabilities and potentials. If I can do it, any other aspiring model can do it. It calls for hard work and determination. Get a good instructor an fine coach. You must get there. Being Desperate or hoping to buy your way won’t help you.
