Multi-talented actor, Joy Chukwujekwu popularly known as Roka and for her exceptional skills in acting and modeling. Raised in Eastern Nigeria, Joy has been a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry since a young age. Her passion for the arts led her to train at department of Theatre Arts Faculty Of Arts. She attended University of Abuja where she was highly involved in the arts and campus life. Upon graduation, she ventured into film industry and have featured in lots of movies. She also the founder of Eldo Rebirth Modeling Agency.

Tell us about yourself?
My Name is Joy Chukwujekwu aka Roka. I am from the Eastern part of Nigeria. From a family of 6, a graduate of University of Abuja Department of Theatre Arts Faculty of Arts. Thespian by Blood. I am an actor, model and marketer by Profession. CEO of ELDO REBIRTH (Ushers, Models and Recruiting Of Staffs.
How did you begin your journey as an actor?
It all started with an Advice from my coach Mrs Esther Omale Onwuka during my school competition IFOD “Do you prefer clap for people or you prefer them clap for you achievement”. I was the type who Prefer hiding in the crowd and not seen. Going from audition to audition was tiring because of rejections. I was told different negative words. Made me not believe in myself.
What inspired you to pursue a career in acting?
Childhood dreams. To be or more like Mrs Omotola Jalade Ekeinde.
What has been your toughest challenge since you joined the industry?
I had so many toughest challenges in the industry. Some made me went low (disappear for sometime). Every beautiful female have their experience and challenge. Being beautiful and sexy, sometimes it difficult because both the married, divorce and single men want to have some. Earliest time of my career I was very mindful (jolly just come) in which I was tagged different names I rejected their advance. Made some angry.

We learnt you are also a model, how do you combine the two profession?
Yes, it hasn’t been easy but God got me. Demanding the time and date of the Job.

Have you ever been a victim of molestation in the industry?
How would you describe you describe the way the movie industry has moved from where it was in the past to where it is now?
We getting better and getting there. Preferable than the past. Importantly Nollywood Movies. Big Up to those who put on their amour and sweat for a greater industry.
When do you intend to settle down?
God’s time is the best.
What lies in the future for Joy Chukwujekwu?
I really don’t know but my trust is in God for a better future. I want to be a Role model not only to my kids but every young stars out there believe and hoping. Don’t give up!
